OUR 2026 VOLUNTEERS’ CAMPAIGN TO BUILD A MULTI-COURT FACILITY
Each volunteer successfully raised the required $1,500 prior to the start of the trip, and we are now making plans to get this multi-court facility underway during the first half of this year. Many thanks to all who donated. Please follow us on social media to watch the progress, and you are still interested in giving, please click here and let us know which volunteer’s campaign you’ve chosen to support. Thank you!

OUR VOLUNTEERS’ FUNDRAISING FOCUS
As many of our supporters know, our agenda is set in collaboration with the schools, students, teachers, administrators, parents, and communities we support. With the requirement that all wishes must fall under the umbrella of education and/or well-being, the schools present their priorities to us, and we jointly create what we call our Top 10 Wish List.
We are steadfastly moving through the top 10 wishes for Moses Mabida Senior Secondary School, and our 2026 Volunteer Trip will focus on bringing yet another of the school’s wishes to fruition.
Specifically, this year’s volunteer trip goal is for each participant to raise at least $1,500 to support the construction of a multi-court surface that will accommodate netball, volleyball, and maybe even tennis. In addition, we will create a well defined soccer field with proper FIFA goals. Each volunteer will reach out to family and friends for help raising funds, and we will assist each volunteer with those efforts, if desired.
By engaging before the trip, the volunteer’s service will a) begin well before we land b) spread the word about Universal Promise, and c) play a central role in this project’s more imminent viability. The other beauty is that the volunteers’ impact will not end when they leave; instead, the multi-court surface and the soccer field will live on well after our departure.
This project will also transform students’ health, well-being, confidence, pride, and teamwork, and help them resist the temptations that surface when, quite frankly, there is too much free time!
We are grateful to our volunteers, who are eager to make their way to South Africa to meet, spend time with, and grow alongside the Xhosa we have come to know and love. We are also grateful to all those who will support our volunteers in their adventure, in their fundraising efforts, and in their desire to lift UP others, regardless of where they live.
