One of the best statistics of all? Computer literacy often increases from 0% to 100% after the installation of our computer labs. Thus far, children of all ages from three different K - 7 and 8 - 12 schools now enjoy technology from their earliest days. That is the way-of-the-world, and students in rural South African schools are now keeping UP.

In March 2015, we installed our first 30-station computer lab at Vusumzi Primary School. In February 2021, Samkelwe Senior Secondary School's dream of having a twenty-first century, 32-station computer laboratory was realized. In 2023, we enhanced the computer lab at Moses Mabida Senior Secondary School by adding 25 laptops, and in 2025, we will install a lab at St. Ignatius Primary School, a K - 7 school educating 550 learners. Add to that laptops we provide to students enrolled at university or college, and we have covered the spectrum.

How do we do it? We always engage a security team to ensure the long-term safety of the technology. The school then makes arrangements to install Internet (which we then upgrade) for the lab, and then, if applicable, UP finishes off the initiative by fully outfitting the lab, paying for the CAMI software (which parallels the government curriculum), and hiring an IT specialist to work magic: installing everything from the network and CAMI software to the battery back-ups and plug adaptors. The lab coordinator oversees the labs, coordinates the timetable, and educates the teachers and students about technology basics, the CAMI software program, and how to conduct research.
